James 3:13-18 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
Are you focused on helping other people get what they want or are you just focused on your own needs? We usually get upset when we don’t get our own way. The things you say about others says a lot about you.
Philippians 2:14-15 Do all things without grumbling or disputing. This proves that you’re blameless. So, your character shows up.
Saying so doesn’t make it so. We are all talkers. Are you the person who does nothing to help and yet you still criticize? Are you in it to get the job done or are you in it to get recognition? The Bible is for application first personally. Love makes sacrifices for the benefit of others. James 4:1 what’s the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Are you the common denominator in your hurt and pain? Don’t quarrels and conflicts come from the desires that battle within you? If we stop being self-focused, things will change and be different. Has your complaining left you pathetic or has it left you better? Complaining is the easiest thing to do but it’s not constructive. What would happen if you just held your tongue, it won’t change the situation but it will change your character and grow it ultimately. The truth of your character is expressed by the choice of your actions. ‘Weakness of attitude equals weakness of character.’ – Albert Einstein.
What’s the most important to you – is it your reputation or your character? You have a reputation because of your character so work on your character.
Character comes before impact. You can’t make an impact if you don’t have a character so stop seeking the impact, seek the character – it gives perseverance.
