This morning’s message from visiting Pastor Patrick – Hope
Genesis 45:27-28 speaks about Joseph having given up hope in his son Joseph and how this was later restored. God is a God of love, He’ll never force you to do anything. He respects your choices. God loves the church but the believer who accepts Christ is the church. There’s a lot of hopelessness and disorder in the world. But we serve a God of hope. God is not limited by our limitations. Those desires that He put in your heart will come to pass. The drug culture’s a universal culture, it’s not limited to a particular country. It’s about trying to fill an empty void in yourself. The choice is yours if you want to have God in your life – learn about Him. Colossians
1 1:27 Christ is in you, the hope of glory. God is a God of order. Religion and the rituals one follows in it will not take you to heaven. Religion is a man-made practice but Christianity is a relationship that you develop with God. Some people want to get into a relationship but there’s a lot of brokenness and issues that God needs to take care of before they get into a relationship. God has perfect timing. It cost God His best, His only Son to save us.
Who is Jesus Christ, the hope of glory? The Bible says He’s the mystery, the truth that was revealed. Colossians 1 1:15-16 “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Jesus is the image of the invisible God. Paul says we are one in Jesus Christ. We need to think with our hearts and our spirits, not only our minds. 1 Peter 1:13 He’s our only hope. Who is Jesus to you? What would you like Him to be to you? In the history of the church there’s an emphasis on healing and we need it. It’s not about the church you go to, it’s about being open to receiving the things of God.
Make time to pray each day. If you want to grow in life and fulfill the dreams that God has placed in your hearts, you’ve got to walk with Him. It’s not a dead end if God takes you where you need to be. Do you want to fulfill your potential? God is speaking to you through His word.
