Dereck's message for today
Gloria Estefan had some bitter sweet love songs some years ago.
The words of the chorus of one of her songs goes like this.
But I can't stay away from you
I don't wanna let you go
And though it's killing me, that's true
There's just some things I can't control.
THIS REMINDED ME OF MY WALK WITH GOD!
1) ONCE YOU CONNECT genuinely you cannot stay away from Him.
2) You won't want to let Him go when you truly realize who he is.
3) There are things that get killed in me daily and still a lot to die.
4) I have given over control to God by living according to His Truth.
GAL 2v20 says NKJV.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Let us go to 1JOHN4 v 1
Beloved do not be swayed by everything that seems spiritual or prophetic, just like costly metals there is a reliable test! There are many false prophets who come and go in the religious world system. They might even sound inspirational and carry a "Christian" label. This does not mean that God is the source of their insight!
This is how you discern the Spirit of God. The incarnation is the central theme of the communication of the Spirit. The fact that Jesus came in the flesh i
s what gives legitimacy to every prophetic word.Fulfilled prophecy pointed to Yahweh Jehovah the God of love sending His Beloved Son to come and shed His love abroad into our hearts even though it meant that He had to go through a cross to impart it to us.
Beloved love always includes others, since love springs from God. It's Source is found in Father, Spirit and Son. Everyone who encounters love immediately knows they are born of the same source. It is not possible to fully participate in love without discovering God. To love is to know God, to know God is to love.
Verse 8 says
Not to love is not to know God. There is nothing in love that distracts from who God is.
Love is who God is, they are inseparable.
SO WHATS THIS LOVE!
1COR 13 v1-8 The Message
“If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.
