Combat the Curse

December 17, 2017

Combating the curse!

Last week we spoke about reversing the curse.

Gal 5v1 NASB

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Life can be tough!

Life is tough!

Life is challenging!

We can all walk around here smiling like pretenders behind masks, but life is tough.

Life is a struggle.

Life is a hard schoolmaster that has no OBE.

Life is not fair.

Life will not do you any favors.

Life is an amazing blessing but can also be a terrible curse.

Let us read Deut 30v19-20. Gods Word Trans.

“I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live. Love the LORD your God, obey him, and be loyal to him. This will be your way of life, and it will mean a long life for you in the land that the LORD swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

1) Love The Lord.

2) Obey The Lord.

3) Be loyal to Him

Choose life or death

Life equals obedience equals blessings. Deut 1-14!

Prov 9 v10  GW trans says

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Loving, obeying and be loyal to The Lord will put you on a journey of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Death equals disobedience equals the curses.

Curses are a supernatural force that come by words or objects that subject you to evil.

Deut 28 from Verse14 deals with the curses.

Here below are some indicators that one may be under a curse.

1.Mental and or emotional breakdown.

Such people do not have full control over their thoughts, emotions and reactions!

Fall to pieces/lose the plot/ nervous breakdown/panic attack/anxious heart/ double minded ness/Schizophrenia/ Despairing heart/psychosis/ Confusion of mind and depression are key words.

2.Repeated or chronic sicknesses (especially if hereditary) Your grandfather had high BP and was a diabetic and it runs in the family.

So and so had this and that and so it just runs in our family.

3.Barrenness, a tendency to miscarry or related female problems.

Deut 28 says Cursed will be the fruit of your body.

This would obviously include inability to conceive, miscarriages, failure to menstruate, irregular menstruation, menstrual  cramps, cysts, growths, tumors and any other problems with the reproductive system.

These problems often affect many women of the same family and could be indicative of a curse at work.

4.Breakdown of marriage and family alienation.

One effect of the curse in this area is described in Deuteronomy 28:41: " You shall beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours; for they shall go into captivity."

Countless parents in the present generation have experienced this curse.  They have seen their sons and daughters taken captive by a rebellious subculture devoted to drugs, sex, satanic music and every form of the occult.

5.Continuing financial insufficiency.

To be poor is definitely not a blessing and if a person is in a situation where there is never enough or nearly enough for many years, this can be because of a curse.

6.Being "accident-prone"

7.A history of suicides and unnatural or untimely deaths.

This speaks for itself.

If one continuously experiences some of the above, you could be under a generational or a blood line curse.

A 4th generation curse is possible to your father, grandfather plus 28 more people in your genealogy.

Therefore, a curse requires a cause to alight.

(1) Having false gods (Exodus 20: 3& 4, Deuteronomy 27: 15)

(2) Disrespect for parents (Deuteronomy 27: 16)

(3) Treachery against a neighbour (Deuteronomy 27: 17)

(4) Injustice to the weak (Deuteronomy 27: 18& 19)

(5) Illicit sex (Deuteronomy 27: 20-23)

(Effect of wrong sexual relationships, particularly those outside of marriage or with members of one's family)

(6) Perjury (Deuteronomy 27: 25)

(7) Stealing (Zechariah 5: 1-4)

(8) Stinginess towards God (Malachi 3: 9)

(9) Perverting gospel (Galatians 1: 8& 9)

(10) Depending on the flesh (Jeremiah 17: 5)

(11) Anti-Semitism (Genesis 12: 3, Genesis 28: 3& 14)

It seems overwhelming when we look at all this stuff.

We could become discouraged.

We could doubt if we ever will get rid of our issues.

So our key text to move from curse to blessing is Gal 3v 13-14 in GW translation

“Christ paid the price to free us from the curse that the laws in Moses’ Teachings bring by becoming cursed instead of us. Scripture says, “Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.” ⌊Christ paid the price⌋ so that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to all the people of the world through Jesus Christ and we would receive the promised Spirit through faith.

God paid the price for our freedom.

We must first receive this truth.

We must then believe this truth

We must conceive this truth.

We must then allow it to be birthed through us!

Gal 5v 1says it is for freedom that Christ has set us free, no longer to be yoked to a yoke of slavery.
